Routine Eye Care & Optical in Boise, Idaho
Eye care for every age and every stage.

Adult Vision Care
Our vision changes with age, and many of those changes are gradual enough that we don't notice them until an exam reveals the full picture. Some changes, like needing reading glasses in your 40s, are almost universal. Others, such as glaucoma or macular degeneration, require monitoring and early intervention to protect your vision.
Here's a general timeline of what to expect by decade:
40s: Presbyopia becomes nearly universal after 40, and the eyes begin to struggle with near focus, leading most people to use reading glasses. Risk for dry eye and computer vision syndrome also increases during this decade.
50s: Risks increase for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration, often without noticeable early symptoms. Eye exams every one to two years are essential. Dry eye also increases, particularly for women going through menopause.
60s: Risk of eye disease increases significantly. Night vision declines, floaters become more common, and annual health screenings for conditions like diabetes, which can impact the eyes, become important.
70s & 80s: Research shows four out of five seniors either have cataracts or have already had surgery. Color and peripheral vision can also decline during this stage.
Pediatric Eye Care
Healthy vision is foundational to a child's learning and development. Our doctors are experienced with patients of every age, including infants and young children, and we work hard to make exams friendly and stress-free for kids. Early detection of conditions like lazy eye, crossed eyes, and refractive errors gives children the best possible start. New pediatric patients are always welcome.
